3 The greenish-gold curtain on the left. This curtain has been overpainted by Tintoretto and replaced by the brown background: verdigris and orpiment
4 Flesh tone of the face: green earth with small amounts of vermilion
5Â Reddish lips: green earth with a greater proportion of vermilion
6Â Crimson robe:Â carmine kermes lake
7Â Orange spots on the golden embroidery of the sash:Â realgar
8Â Yellow parts of the embroidery of the sash: orpiment and realgar
